Large Language Model (LLM)

A text-generating AI system that predicts likely language from patterns. It can explain, summarize, and organize health information, but it is not the same thing as a clinician reading a person, exam, and chart.

Plain English

An LLM is a language engine, not a medical authority.

Why It Matters After 40

The output can be helpful and still be incomplete. That distinction matters when readers bring AI answers into health decisions.

What To Do With It

Use it for plain-English translation, appointment prep, and question lists. Do not use it as the final decision-maker.

Human Utility

  • Know what the term means before uploading data into an AI tool.
  • Separate explanation from medical interpretation.
  • Bring trend data and context to the appointment instead of one isolated number.
